About FMX

The FMX is the “Voice” of transportation in Nassau County, Florida.

The Fernandina Maritime Exchange (FMX) is a business association of transportation stakeholders that in partnership with the Nassau County Ocean, Highway & Port Authority supports the financial success of the Port of Fernandina for growth in ship activity and jobs through the advancement in port facilities, highway, rail and warehousing throughout Nassau County.  An active and productive port will feed all other modes of transportation which will ultimately lead to greater revenues and more jobs industry wide.

The FMX seeks to create a friendly and active commercial business environment for companies and individuals involved in international trade through the Port of Fernandina, putting Nassau County on the world stage as a good place to conduct business.  The FMX supports and sponsors community educational programs in international trade to assist local businesses and individuals in the creation of new revenue streams.

The FMX will take a leading roll in establishing relationships with governmental and commercial interests to effect real change to the county transportation systems.  Creating, upgrading and enhancing port, highway, railway and warehousing are top priorities of the association.

Keeping the industry up to date on security and safety in our county transportation systems is an important roll for the FMX.  In light of recent dramatic changes throughout the transportation industry worldwide, Nassau County stakeholders must be provided the latest information.  The FMX brings all federal, state, county and city governmental interests together for dialog on a one-to-one basis with local industry.  Through its relationship with the United States Coast Guard and other government authorities, the FMX will provide an important roll in weather related information, especially with tropical storm and hurricane preparedness and updated weather warnings.

The FMX is a single unified strong voice representing all transportation interests in Nassau County.  The association provides a place for all county transportation interests to voice their interests, needs and concerns and to have those needs and concerns brought forward in an environment of common interest.  Through this unified voice the industry can impact political forces to make necessary changes and upgrades in port, highway and rail systems in our favor.
