The Port is located along a western inlet off Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island and is a natural deep water port 45 minutes from dockside to open ocean.

The Port of Fernandina is operated by Kinder Morgan Inc. Kinder Morgan provides terminal services to over fifteen pulp and paper mills located throughout Florida and the southeast.  Fernandina also supports a number of independent container lines serving Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Aruba, and Bermuda.  Along with forest products and containers, steel is exported and imported to various Caribbean and South American ports.

The Port’s principal cargoes include:
Exports:  Forest products including Kraft liner board, wood pulp, steel and, treated lumber.
Imports: Lumber, wood pulp, hardboard, and steel

The containerized commodities moving through the Port include wood pulp, automobile parts, steel products, beer, frozen foods, machinery, consumer goods just to mention a few.
