    Pilotage Rates for the Port of Fernandina
(Rates are determined by the order of the Florida Pilotage Rate Review Board)
 
       
  1. A DRAFT charge of $25.35 per draft foot with a 15 foot minimum.  
           
  2. A TONNAGE charge of $.057 per Gross Registered Ton (GRT) with a 2500 GRT minimum.  
           
3. DETENTION OF PILOT
Pilot responds to last ETA or delayed sailing after pilot arrives on station (not due to weather) $250 per hour or fraction thereof (maximum of $500 per day.)
 
             
    4. CANCELED SAILING AFTER PILOT ARRIVES ON DUTY
Half of normal pilotage rate.
 
             
    5. PILOT KEPT ON BOARD
$250 per day plus return transportation.
 
             
    6. SHIFTING - $250      
             
    7. TOWING; DEAD SHIP TOW - 1.5 x normal pilotage rate.  
             
    8. TUG/BARGE COMBINATION - Charged at 1.5 Deep Draft  
             
    9. STANDBY OF PILOT
When the presence of a pilot is required on board as in, but not limited to, as a vessel at anchor - $250 per hour or fraction thereof without limit.
 
             
    10. DOCKING/UNDOCKING
a) $125 for vessels 350 feet or less and $175 for vessels over 350 feet.
b) Docking or undocking with tugboat/tugboats $225
 
             
    11. PERSONNEL TRANSFER/DELIVERY - $200 per hour of fraction thereof  
             
             
      Navigation Restrictions & Information  
             
      Port Navigation Rules:  
     
  • 34' draft any time, deeper than 34' at pilot direction
 
             
      Pilot Boarding Area:    
     
  • Vessels 7.5 meters and deeper to be boarded in vicinity of "STM" buoy
  • Vessels less than 7.5 meters draft to be boarded at direction of pilot
 
             
      Recommended Anchorage:  
     
  • Vessels 7.5 meters and deeper may anchor 1 mile Northwest of "STM" buoy
  • Vessels less than 7.5 meters may anchor 1/2 north or 1/2 miles south of buoys #8 and #9
 
             
    Along Berth Depth:  
   
  • Nassau Terminals had a Depth alongside of 35 feet
